FIG Congress 2026: Call for Papers Now Open

The FIG Congress 2026, under the theme “The Future We Want – The SDGs and Beyond,” invites professionals, researchers, and policymakers to explore innovative ways to shape global sustainable development. The event will provide a platform for advancing land governance, geospatial intelligence, and technology in support of sustainability, resilience, and equity beyond 2030.
Set against the backdrop of accelerating climate change, the Congress will spotlight the role of geospatial science in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and informed decision-making. Peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed papers are welcomed across a broad range of themes, including geospatial innovation, land and resource management, sustainable settlements, and digital transformation.
Sessions will highlight cross-cutting themes like climate change, gender inclusion, youth engagement, and professional renewal. FIG’s ten commissions and task forces will lead discussions on diverse topics—ranging from fit-for-purpose land administration and AI in valuation to hydrography, spatial planning, and sustainable construction.
The Congress is a key moment for exchanging ideas, strengthening networks, and identifying pathways for inclusive development through transparent governance, modern technologies, and global cooperation.
Submissions are now open for abstracts. The Congress invites contributions from professionals, young surveyors, academic institutions, and regional capacity networks, especially from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
