Ichraf Aroua

I am an architect and urban planner, graduated in 2013. I obtained my doctorate in architectural science and engineering in 2024. I have also been a lecturer and researcher since 2016. I had a rich and fruitful experience with the Nelga North Africa network. It involved expertise on land governance in Tunisia. I participated in workshops, and we shared experiences with various country members.


Elnazir Ramadan

Dr. Elnazir Ramadan has over 20 years of academic experience, teaching and conducting research in land use planning, spatial development, and sustainable urbanization. With expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing, Dr. Ramadan has applied these technologies extensively in urban and regional planning. His recent research focuses on Cites resilience and adaptation to climate change integrating spatial information within national, regional, and global policy frameworks, with a particular emphasis on mapping Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in relation to social, economic, and environmental challenges. Before joining the United Arab Emirates University, Ramadan held teaching positions at Juba University in Sudan, Qatar University, and Sultan Qaboos University, contributing significantly to the advancement of urban planning education and research. In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. Ramadan has a distinguished research portfolio, with numerous publications featured in prominent international journals, as listed on his Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science profiles. His research is widely recognized for its focus on urban planning, environmental resilience, and sustainability, with a particular emphasis on the GCC region. He has played an instrumental role in postgraduate education. He has supervised and examined numerous Master’s and PhD theses that proves his leadership in postgraduate education

I am passionate in land administration-related fields, such as land rights, Tenure, valuation, survey, land use planning, spatial planning, GIS (Geographical Information System), and LIS (Land Information System)


PAULO KITOSI

Meet Mr. Paulo Samweli Kitosi – a skilled Urban Planner, Urban Designer, and GIS expert. Currently, he is employed at the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Human Settlement Development in Tanzania\\\’s capital city of Dodoma. Mr. Kitosi holds two postgraduate degrees, a Master of Architecture (Urban Design) from Ardhi University in 2016, and a Master of Science in Geographical Information Systems (MSc. GIS) from the University of Dar es Salaam, which he obtained in 2023. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Ardhi University, which he earned in 2014.


Partson Paradza

Dr. Paradza has experience in both industry and academia. He worked as an Estates Officer in the Department of Public Works (2011-2016) and as a Town Planning Officer in the Department of Physical Planning (2016-2018) in Zimbabwe. He lectured at BA ISAGO University from 2018 to 2024 before joining the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of Construction Economics and Management.


Gaspard Rwanyiziri

Gaspard Rwanyiziri is an Associate Professor of Environmental Planning and Management with 25+ years of experience in conducting environment and climate change research; coordinating national and regional research projects; conducting consultancy services for public and non-government institutions; and undertaking community outreach on environment and climate change related matters across the country. He has an extensive publication record and proven track record in managing international consortia with universities, NGOs, and government, partners.


FREDRICK MOKUA

I am an international consultant with extensive experience in Participatory Land Use Planning and mapping and developing land information management systems. Climate change variability and vulnerability assessment and development of mitigation and adaptation strategies/policy, organizational and institutional capacity need assessments for implementation of ICT, disaster risk assessment and geospatial applications, configuration and deployment of GIS-based information management systems, and Compilation of GHG Inventories (all sectors) and National Communication to the UNFCCC, preparation, and implementation of MRV systems for mitigation and adaptation, NDC Tracking, transitioning to the enhanced transparency framework of the Paris Agreement, Science-based Target Setting (SBTi), and NBS/Carbon Project development.


kendie Kenmoe

I am a geospatial and land information systems expert with over 12 years of experience supporting land governance, land-use planning, forest governance, and sustainable land management across Africa. I currently serve as the Lead of WRI Africa’s Data Lab, where I provide strategic and technical leadership for the development and deployment of geospatial, AI-enabled, and cloud-based platforms that strengthen evidence-based decision-making for governments, regional institutions, and development partners.


Girma Mulu Alemu

I have served as a public servant as a sociologist and urban planner in local government offices from 2010-2015. Currently, I have been serving as a lecturer and researcher in higher education institutions since 2015 in Ethiopia


Jean Pierre HABIYAREMYE

I am a passionate Surveyor, optimist, self-motivated, quick learner highly accurate and detail-oriented in different consultancies activities with experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

As a researcher and Professor at University, with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem solving abilities allow me to identify potential issues early in a project and implement effective solutions. My excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enable me to work cooperatively with clients, colleagues, and other project stakeholders by sight, truth and transparency.
